Who is Vølve?

VØLVE is the moniker of Danish artist Helene Navne, who creates cinematic, atmospheric soundscapes where ritual and rebellion meet. Rooted in Nordic ritual folk, her music blends ethereal vocals, neoclassical strings, and dark-folk textures into haunting compositions that feel both ancient and alive.

Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, witchcraft, and the sacred feminine, VØLVE transforms vulnerability into strength and voice into spellwork. Her songs explore the wild terrain of female empowerment, emotional alchemy, and self-liberation - inviting listeners into soundscapes that feel like both spell and confession.

Her earlier work earned national recognition in the Danish newspaper Politiken for its “fragile yet powerful vocals that evoke echoes of PJ Harvey” - a depth she has since forged into something wilder, freer, and wholly her own.
